Reed, age 55 of Cabins, WV passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at GrantMemorialHospital, Petersburg, WV.Mr. Reed was born on June 3, 1954 in Falls,
WV, the son of the late Bernie and Hildred Merritt Reed.He was a Brethren by faith, was employed at
American Woodmark for 33 years, member of the West Virginia Trappers
Association for 20 years and was a 1973 Graduate of Petersburg High School.
Mr. Reed is
survived by:a daughter, Clarissa Reed,
Romney, WV; a Son, Aaron Reed, Romney, WV; 3 Sisters, Karen Davis and husband
Gerry, Maysville, WV, Cornelia Vance and husband Ralph, Maysville, WV, Donna
Bennett and Husband David, Seneca Rocks, WV; 2 Brothers, Gale Merrit and wife
Sharon, New Creek, WV, Haven Reed, Moorefield, WV; and 1 Grandchild.
Family will
receive friends at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV
on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.Rev. Vivan Watts andRick
Bergdoll will conduct funeral services on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM
in the funeral home chapel.Burial will
be in the MaysvilleCemetery.Memorials may be made to the Maysville

Dear Reed family,I am sorry and stunned to hear about the loss of Dana.I liked to talk to him when I would see him at work about hunting and trapping.When I worked with him and on occassion was one of his supervisees,I enjoyed it and thought he was very fair to me.Thoughts and prayers with you.Donnie B.

We are all deeply saddened with the loss of Dana. He was a good man and a top-notch trapper who always had a smile for everyone he met. He was an outdoorsman through and through, and possessed the patience and understanding to help others learn about the way of life he held so dear. He will be greatly missed by each us of.
