Charlena Jane Parrish, age 91 passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on September 20, 1917, the  daughter of the late John O. and Arlene Holt Riggs. Charlena was twice married. Her first husband, A. David BJorkgren preceded her in death in 1969 and her second husband, Leroy Parrish preceded her in death in 1984. She retired in 1982 as a Supervisor for Sylvania Electronics.
Charlena is survived by: two Daughters, Charlena Sharon Santry, Hyannis, Massachusetts, Karla Jane Ritcey and Husband Everett, Waltham, Massachusetts; a Son, David BJorkgren and Wife Nancy, Franklin, WV; 12 Grandchildren, Corrie BJorkgren, John BJorkgren and Wife Amy, Deirdre Dow and Husband Chuck, Wiliam Greer, Debra Kelly, Karin Pope, Brenda Eaves, Robert BJorkgren, Sonja Towey, Karla Gehring, Melody BJorkgren and Naoma BJorkgren; 23 Great-Grandchildren, including Coleman Dow, Jada Dow, Shinnelle BJorkgren, Karissa BJorkgren, Colby BJorkgren and Micah BJorkgren. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert (2005).
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2009 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Rev. Dr. Milton Boyle will conduct a graveside service on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, New Hampshire. Funeral arrangements in New Hampshire are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Nashua.
