Mary Gray Dolly, age 94 of Pendleton Manor, Franklin, WV passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA. She was born on April  12, 1915 in Monterey, VA, the daughter of the late Charles Gray Ralston and Lizzie Ann Beverage Ralston. On June 26, 1937, Mary married W. Bruce Dolly whom preceded her in death September 6, 2003. She was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Bridgewater College, Charter Worthy Matron of Franklin Chapter #138 Order Of The Eastern Star, and a retired English Teacher and Librarian at Highland High School.
Mrs. Dolly is survived by: A Daughter, Dorothy Gray Shelin, Williamsburg, VA; 2 Grandchildren, Sandra Lee Shelin, Walla-Walla, Washington, and Dr. Randal Gray Shelin, Las Vegas, Nevada; and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Charles Gray Shelin and Chelsea Elizabeth Shelin. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a Brother, Leo L. Ralston and a Sister, Laura Ann Ralston.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2009 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Dr. Richard Young will conduct a funeral service on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Franklin Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations may be made to Pendleton County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
