Josephine Sandra “Jo” Proffitt, age 66 of Falls Church, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at her residence. Miss Proffitt was born in Smoke Hole, WV on May 3, 1943, the daughter of the late Harman Shreve and Vada Judy Shreve of Petersburg, WV. Josephine was a waitress at JV's Restaurant in Falls Church, VA and she attended Pendleton County Schools.
Miss Proffitt is survived by: 2 Daughters, Carolyn Alt-Redish, Burke, VA, Bobbi Jo Flores, Front Royal, VA; 3 Sons, Johnny E. Dice, Falls Church, VA, Gerald Alt, Conowingo, MD, Timothy Alt, Charleston, WV; 4 Sisters, Geraldine Dwyer, Alexandria, VA, Maxine Kancler, Petersburg, WV, Nancy LaMaster, Upper Tract, WV, Marsha Carpenter, Falls Church, VA; 3 Brothers, Otha Keith Shreve, Orlando, FL, Ronnie Shreve, Franklin, WV, Dennis Shreve, Maysville, WV; 10 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Sue Stump.
A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Larry Cantu on Sunday, September, 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.
Jo, you will be sadly missed by all....I'm glad mom is not alone anymore. I hope you both have a grand time in heaven together. Love ya bunches,
