Margaret Ellen “Maggie” (Burgoyne) Harper, age 55 of Upper Tract passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Harper was born in Petersburg, WV on May 14, 1954, the daughter of Morris Mallow of Upper Tract and Shirley Burgoyne Bingman of Kingmont, WV. On September 11, 1976 in Blue Grass, VA, Maggie married Arthur Dwight Harper, who survives in Upper Tract. Mrs. Harper was a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed at the Pentagon. She was a Stenographer and retired from VISA, she was a member of the Upper Tract United Methodist Church, a 1972 graduate of Franklin High School, a member of the American Legion (Franklin Post), and a member of the Franklin Moose #769.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Maggie is survived by: 2 Sons, Ryan Patrick Harper, Chantilly, VA, Aaron Frederick Harper and Fiance June Napier, Al Asad, Iraq; A sister, Laura Bilek and husband William, Johnson City, NY; A brother, Tom Burgoyne and wife Sandy, Franklin, WV; and a granddaughter, Hayden Louise Harper, Buxton, NC. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Burgoyne in 1970.
Family will receive friends on Monday, October 19, 2009 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Rev. Stanley Kile will conduct funeral services on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Military graveside services will be provided by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV. Memorial donations may be made to the Upper Tract Rescue Squad or Upper Tract Volunteer Fire Department.

Everyone that worked with Maggie here at Visa thought the world of her. Not only because she was so very good at everything that she did - but even more importantly, because she was just such a caring, sincere, and wonderful person. I had the privilege of getting to know Maggie through working at Visa UK and a few trips to the States where we met in person.
We immediately got on and laughed until we hurt. It is with deepest sorrow that I share her family's loss of such a great spirit.
