Jackie Gale Bland, age 69 of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at his home. Born May 3, 1940 in Macksville, WV, he was the son of the late Don Bland and the late Tina Huffman Bland. Jackie was a 1959 graduate of Circleville High School, Circleville, WV. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church, Riverton, WV. He was a member of the Carpenters Union #1590 and was a life long carpenter, working in Washington, D. C.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Emma Mae Chew Bland, Seneca Rocks; two daughters, Ilva Phillips and Penny Hoggarth, both of Petersburg, WV; two sons, Hadley A. Bland and companion Mindy, Richard L. Bland and wife Terri, both of Petersburg, WV; two sisters, Anna Thompson, Seneca Rocks and Mary Alice Loan and husband Denver, Harrisonburg, VA; one brother, Harry Bland, Riverton; four grandchildren; Steven Bland, Christopher Thomas Phillips, Tina Elyse Hoggarth, Brock Richard Bland, three great-grandchildren; Lilly Phillips, Riley Bland, Levi Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; Carroll, Albert, Ray “Brownie, Bobby, Billy and two sisters; Cathy Bland, Lucille Teter.
Rev. Dan Powers and Rev. Brady Goldizen will conduct services, Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 2:00 p. m. at the North Fork Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 6 p. m. - 8 p. m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg. Burial will take place at North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton.
