Artie Mae Cunningham

Artie Mae Hesse Cunningham, age 75 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.  Mrs. Cunningham was born in Jordan Run, WV on November 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Emmett Hesse and the late Edna Berg Hesse.  Artie's husband of 57 years, John B. Cunningham survives in Petersburg, WV.  Mrs. Cunningham was a school bus driver for Grant County Schools for 28 years.  She was a member of Petersburg Church of God, VFW Ladies Auxillary Post #6454, and WV Retired School Employees Association.  She was baptized at Jordan Run Union Brethren Church. 

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cunningham is survived by:  A daughter, Patricia A. Bradshaw and Husband George, Petersburg, WV; A Son, Ronnie W. Cunningham and Wife Debbie, Petersburg, WV; 3 Sisters, Lena Wilkens, Petersburg, WV, Darlene Turner, Petersburg, WV, and Bonnie Hesse Kisamore and Husband Dave of Jordan Run, WV; 2 Brothers, Richard Hesse, Fisher, WV and Lee Allen “Bud” Hesse and Wife Cathy, Manassas, VA; 4 Grandchildren, Matt Cunningham, Derek Bradshaw, Nicole Watts and Husband Daniel and Charity Kimble and Husband Steve, all of Petersburg, WV; and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Blake Watts, Ben Watts, Jadyn Kimble and Bryceson Kimble; and a Step-Mother, Effie Keplinger Hesse of Jordan Run, WV.  In addition to her parents, Artie was preceded in death by:  A Son, Johnny Cunningham, Jr. and an Infant Daughter, Teresa Lynn Cunningham. 

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Pastor Aaron Davidson will officiate funeral services on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will be in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, WV.  Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxillary Post #6454.
