Carl Douglas Burns, Sr., age 61, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his residence in Riverton, WV. Mr. Burns was born on October 15, 1948 in Riverton, WV, the son of  the late Don L. and Mary Catherine Kile Burns. On September 27, 1973, Carl married Betty Virginia Lloyd, who survives in Riverton. He retired in 2007 from Greer Lime, where he operated a rock crusher for 36 years. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1968 and was a Mormon.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Burns is survived by: 1 Daughter, Kathy Iman, Granite Falls, NC; 5 Sons, Carl D. Burns, Jr. and Wife Tracy, Maysville, WV, Donald L. Burns, Jr., Quentin Burns and Wife Kelly, Brandywine, WV, James Donitzen and wife Cynthia, Biloxi, Mississippi, Michael R. Donitzen and Wife Patricia, Broadway, VA; 1 Sister, Anna Jean Simpson, Lansdowne, MD; 3 Brothers, Charles A. Burns, Riverton, WV, Curtis E. Burns, Riverton, Paul Burns, Mill Creek, WV; and 17 Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Burns Family Cemetery, Riverton, WV. Military graveside services will be provided by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
