Loyal Moreland

Loyal Austin “Bingo” Moreland, age 87 of Mt. Storm, WV, passed away, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at his residence. Born February 15, 1923 in Jordan Run, WV, he was the son of  late Albert and Anna Jones Moreland. He was married to Opal Blanche Cosner Moreland, who preceded him in death June 6, 2001. Mr. Moreland was a lifelong truck driver self employed at Moreland Trucking Comany.  He attended school in  Scherr, WV and was a member of Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved Bluegrass Music and especially loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Moreland is survived by one son, Jonathon Moreland and wife Ann, of Mt. Storm, WV; four sisters, Rosalee Kessel, Maysville, WV, Genevieve Kessel, Scherr, WV, Dorothy Connell, Petersburg, WV, Yvonne Fawley, Franklin, WV; two brothers, Donnie Moreland and wife Dottie, Elk Garden, WV, Richard Moreland and wife Tola, Scherr, two grandchildren, Jonathan J.J. Moreland, of Mt. Storm, WV and Shannon and husband Frank Groves of Maysville, WV; and two great-grandchildren Nathan and Shalea Moreland.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard Moreland; eight brothers, Victor, Glenville, Virgil, Leon, Dale, William, Harold, and Charles Moreland.

Rev. Don Marple will conduct services, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 11:00 a. m. at the Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at the Idleman Cemetery, Mt. Storm. Family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 9, 2010, 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Storm Presbyterian Church. Memories and words of comfort may be left for the family at www.basagic.com. Services are under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg.
