I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your brother on the death
of your father. Although I never had the privilege of meeting your father, I
have heard only the highest praise of his fine character. He certainly had a
great "Angel"daughter who was very faitihful to him. There is no doubt
that his passing will be a great loss to all who knew him.

With deepest
sympathy,
Lorna

We did not meet Burrel until a few years ago. He was a kind and thoughtful
gentleman.
On one occasion, he gave me, my wife and daughter a grand tour of
the Roy Gap and Smith Mt. Road. On the tour, he would go into detail about the
history of the area and who lived there.
For his age, his sight was amazing.
He could spot the chuckholes way out in front of the truck.
The community has
lost an outstanding citizen and a real nice person.
It was a pleasure to have
known him.
He will be remembered.
Colin White 2010-06-05 12:20:34

I just met Burrel around 2003 when I worked for my grandparents at Yokum's
Store. He would come up every day just to play a few games of checkers and talk.
On many slow days I would anxiously await his visits.

When my grandfather,
Carl Yokum, was alive, he told me about how close he and Burrel were growing up
-- practically like brothers.

Though he would sometimes not recognize me in
recent years, all I had to mention was checkers and he immediately recalled who
I was.

It won't be the same in Seneca Rocks without Burrel around.

Deepest sympathies to family and friends,

My mom sends her thoughts and prayers your way as do I. My parents Sybilla
Kisamore has known your dad all her life, and my dad Ed Kisamore and your dad
were good friends in their younger years. One of the highlights my parents
enjoyed was seeing Burl come to our Kisamore Reunion. I got to know Burl at the
Reunion. In my mom's words, he was a good man and not a better friend to be had

our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time,
