Adalbert Eugene Hoover , age 90, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. He was born on May 14, 1934, in Moyers, WV, the son of the late Raymond Ralph and Beulah Elisabeth (Moyers) Hoover. On October 8, 1960, Adalbert married Lorena (Bodkin) Hoover, who survives in Brandywine.

Adalbert was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of St. Paul Independent Church. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, going to festivals, gardening and hunting. Adalbert was a farmer and a very talented carpenter and painter, who had a special gift in woodworking. He was a Veteran of the US Army, where he served as a Military Policeman. He was a former member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #769.

In addition to his wife, Adalbert leaves behind to cherish his memory: a son, Gregory Wayne Hoover of Brandywine, WV; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Dr. Raymond Medford Hoover and Olin Louis Hoover.

Adalbert's family will receive friends on Thursday, October 31, 2024, 1-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, with Military Honors conducted by the US Army, Camp Dawson. Memorials may be made to South Fork Rescue Squad.
