Alfred Henry Kesner , age 82, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. He was born on June 27, 1937, in Mozer, WV, the son of the late Seymour Henry and Pearlie Mae (Riggleman) Kesner. On November 30, 1962, Alfred married Darlene (Nesselrodte) Kesner, who survives in Petersburg, WV.

Mr. Kesner attended Petersburg High School and was a member of South Mill Creek Church of the Brethren. He recently attended The Church of God in Franklin, WV. He had worked many construction and excavating jobs, including waterline construction, and powerline construction for Potomac Edison. Alfred retired from Petersburg Block as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time at his cabin, searching for mushrooms, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kesner is survived by: a daughter, Janice Clark (Jonathan) of Upper Tract, WV; a sister, Carol Ann Smith (Robert "Bob") of Moorefield, WV; a grandson, David Wimer; and a great-granddaughter, Willow Mongold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Alfreda "Pete" Kesner; 2 brothers, Roy and Vernon Kesner; and 4 sisters, Minnie Kesner, Nellie Lahman, Elizabeth Goodman, and Ruth Kesner.

Mr. Kesner's family will receive friends on Tuesday, Februay 18, 2020, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:00 Am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rob Borror officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery.
