Alice Katherine "Katty" Heavener, age 82, of Cabins, WV, entered the Gates of Heaven on Monday, March 23, 2026 at her home.  She was born on July 22, 1943 in Onego, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Edith May (Hartman) Vance.  Alice married Kenneth Foster Heavener who preceded her in death on February 5, 2001.

Katty attended school in Onego and was a loving homemaker and mother.  She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.  Katty especially looked forward to spring so she could go ramp digging, fishing, and found any opportunity to visit Elkins.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Katty's caregivers', Wendy Vint and Shirley Ruddle for their kindness and compassion in caring for her final needs.

Katty leaves behind to cherish her memory: a son, Timmy Heavener of Cabins, WV and a brother, Bruce Vance (Sue) of Onego, WV.  In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Junior and Daniel Vance.
