Jean was a lifelong nurse who cared for people for over 60 years.  She owned a personal health care home where she was the caretaker of many patients throughout the years.  She retired at age 80 to enjoy the rest of her life cooking and caring for her family.  She adored finding new recipes to try out at her next family dinner.  We all know that she could tell the best stories.  A favorite of her's was telling you how she could shoot the stem of the apple to get it to fall from the tree.  And she never did hit the apple!

Jean was the daughter of the late Ovie & Ellie McClanahan.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Perry McClure. She was also preceded in death by one brother: Ovie {Buddy} McClanahan, Sr.  four sisters: Alberta {Picky} Womack, Laura {Curly} Womack, Norma {Sally} McClanahan, & Christine Honaker, and one great great grandson: Kayce.

Surviving are three sons: Steven McClure of Scott Depot, WV, Denver McClure (Sandra) of Culloden, WV, Boyd McClure (Cheryl) of Winfield, WV, four daughters: Terri Pardo (Marc) of Punta Gorda, FL, Deborah Dixon of Bridgeport, OH, Patricia Sullivan of Woodbridge, VA, and Brenda Myers (Hobert) of Scherr, WV.

Also surviving is Jean's legacy of 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, & 5 great great grandchildren.

She was always very proud of the large family that she had help create.

Please join us in celebrating her amazing life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Harding Family Funeral Home located at 147 Main St, Poca, WV, with Pastor Hobert (Benji) Myers officiating.  From there we will follow up at the grave site with a service and lay her to rest at Heavens Gateway Memorial Gardens, 2820 WV-34, Winfield, WV.
