Obituary

Allen Kesner , 69, was born in Petersburg, WV and grew up in Rough Run with his parents, Stella Susan (Parsons), Samuel Victor Kesner, and his older brother Doug Kesner. Allen is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kimberly Jo Ann (Eddy) Kesner, with whom he lived in Milam, WV; first wife, Janet "Bunny" (Rohrbaugh) Kesner of Moorefield, WV; six children and their significant others, Ben Kesner and Melisa Moreland, Shawna Rider and Jason Spatola, Elizabeth Kesner and Deborah Nishimura, Laura and David Combs, Devin Cordray and Mallory Smith, and Breanna Cordray; seven grandchildren, Samuel Allen, Autumn, Gwen, Abi, Alex, Emmitt, and Oliver; and one great-grandchild on the way.

Allen was preceded in death by his favorite pups, Daisy and Tinker, and his favorite horse, Pistol's Pride Boy. He is also survived by his dogs, Annie, Cisco, and new addition, Bo; as well as, beloved horses Tug, Romeo, and Queen.

Mr. Kesner was a 1969 graduate of Petersburg High School and earned a Master's Degree in Silviculture from WVU in 1978. A lover of nature, he worked in forest resources management, as a forester logger, and had a passion for horse training. He especially loved starting young horses and rehabilitating those with behavior challenges. Music was a central part of Allen's life and he led local music groups, The Potomac Gentlemen and The Potter's Clay, having often performed at many regional festivals, churches, and the The Country Store Opry at Landes.
