Alma Jean Harper, age 98, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on April 18, 1924, in Brandywine, WV, the daughter of the late Dewey Samuel and Lola Belle (Guyer) Anderson. On September 7, 1948, Alma married George Wilson Harper, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1983.

Mrs. Harper was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School and she attended Madison College. She was a member of the Brandywine Christian Church and she was a farmer and she retired in 1986 as a Secretary from Brandywine Elementary School.

Mrs. Harper is survived by: 2 sons, Marshall Harper (Donna) of Brandywine, WV, Jeffrey Harper (Ronda) of Vienna, WV; a sister, Thelma Cooper of Franklin, WV; 3 grandchildren, Carrie Jo Fox, Megan DeLancey (Cole), and Garrett Harper; and 5 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leah, Andrew, Sarah, and Emryn. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Robyn Howard.
