Obituary

Ambers Wime r, age 93, of Circleville, WV, passed away on early Sunday morning, July 13, 2025, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born October 30, 1931, on Smith Creek, WV, the son of the late Taylor and Rebecca (Vandevander) Wimer. Ambers married the love of his life, Frances (Kisamore) Wimer, who preceded him in death on December 20, 2020.

Ambers had worked for Orkin in his younger years, then for the US Forest Service on Spruce Knob, mowing and clearing brush. He had also worked at Gilford Townsend's Sawmill. Ambers was a hardworking man, who finished out his years as a farmhand until he retired. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict.

Ambers was the last surviving member of his immediate family and leaves behind to cherish his memory: his children, Carolyn Lambert of Singers Glen, VA, Rodney "Buddy" Wimer (Alice) of Petersburg, WV, and Charlotte Vance (Brison) of Circleville, WV; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Wimer; grandchildren, Jody Lambert (Donna), Tonya Lambert, Bridget Riggleman (Jason), Jessica Alt (Jared), Amberly Bennett (Delmes), Shallan "Tracy" Hinkle (Brian), Deanna Fox (Andy), Adam Wimer, and Dusty Wimer; great-grandchildren, Luke & Baylee Lambert, Jayla Kite, Logan & Kyla Riggleman, Stacie & Levi Bennett, Madison & Jada Alt, Tristan & Dallas Hinkle, Mahayla & Danny Kilgore, Makayla & Greyson Wimer, and Summer Wimer; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Autumn & Eli Satterfield, and Hadley Hinkle. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Gary Wayne Wimer; 6 brothers, Marvin, Philip, Martin, Walter, Ocie, and Arlie Wimer; 3 sisters, Alice Wimer, Lucy Bennett, Regana Arbaugh; and a half sister, Sallie Greathouse; and a son-in-law, Varley Lambert, Jr.

Ambers' family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 Am in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Interment will be in the Wimer Cemetery, Circleville, WV.
