Anita Joyce Heavener, age 71, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  She was born on January 13, 1954 in Petersburg, the daughter of the late Ralph Lamb and Isaac Robert and Juanita (Borror) Lambert.  Anita was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Eugene Heavener Sr. on January 11, 2019.

Mrs. Heavener attended Petersburg High School receiving her GED and went to the Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church.  She had worked as an EMT for over 10 years before continuing her true calling as a caretaker for seniors.  Anita and Andrew loved taking motorcycle rides together through the country. She also enjoyed listening to music, cooking for her family and friends, and helping anyone in need.  Anita will be remembered as a kind, loving soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anita is survived by: a daughter, Bobbie J. Perez (Ricardo)of Clear Brook, VA; 3 sons, Jeremy P. Heavener (Rita) of Cranberry Township, PA; Glen "Wes" Heavener of Cumberland, MD; Andrew E. Heavener Jr. of Wilkes Barre, PA; a step-daughter, Angela C. Bowlsby (Alan) of Surf City, NC; a sister, Loma Knight of Beckley, WV; 5 Grandchildren; 10 Step-grandchildren; and 6 Step-Great grandchildren.

Anita's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 10-11 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating.  Inurnment will be at the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg, WV immediately after.  Memorials may be made to All Care of West Virginia (10 Maple Hill Ave. Suite 5 Petersburg, WV 26847).
