Obituary

Anna B. “Ann” (Warner) Wimer, age 87, of Franklin, WV, left her earthly home on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on January 25, 1939, in Circleville, WV, the daughter of the late Charles Adam and Martha Ann (Hinkle) Warner. On May 30, 1959, Ann married the love of her life and her husband of 67 years, Thomas Edwin Wimer, Jr., who survives in Franklin.

Ann was a 1957 graduate of Circleville High School where she was the former FFA “Sweetheart Queen”. She was honorably chosen as princess to the 1957 Mountain State Forest Festival. Ann was a member of Franklin United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Women's Club. She worked as a hairdresser in Hagerstown, MD and also assisted Leslie Dodrill at Franklin Florist. Her caring heart led her to help with Meals on Wheels and work at the Library. Ann found joy in spending time at the Korner Shop with her husband and circle of friends.

Ann was the matriarch of her family, taking great pride in caring for those she loved. Whether gathered around her table for a home-cooked meal (especially her spaghetti sauce, lasagna, vegetable soup, and chocolate chip cookies) or simply enjoying time together, she expressed her love through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion. Above all, she cherished being a mother and grandmother, roles that brought her immense joy and defined the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her spirit resonated in every embrace, every encouraging word, and every act of love. Ann had a quiet strength and boundless generosity.

In addition to her husband, Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Lori Ann DeMoss (Lee) of Sykesville, MD, Elizabeth Wimer Armstrong (Craig) of Harrisonburg, VA; a son, Charles Thomas “Tom” Wimer (Mary Ellen) of Brandywine, WV; 3 grandchildren, Thomas, Phillip, and Nicole; and 4 great-grandchildren, Forest, Henry, Genevieve, and Cora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 4 brothers, Harold, Jack, Charles, Eddie Warner; and a sister, Genevieve Roby.

Ann's family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, 1-3 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating. In honoring Ann's wishes, her body will be cremated and burial of ashes will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV. Memorials may be made to: The Pendleton Manor, Franklin United Methodist Church, or any Pendleton County Rescue Squad. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com
