Annabelle Laura McDonald , Age 73, of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at her home.  She was born on March 4, 1949, in Petersburg, WV the daughter of the late Austin John and Rhoda Ellen (Whetzel) Berg.  On November 27, 1965, Annbelle married Forist McDonald III, who survives in Moorefield, WV.

Mrs. McDonald attended school in Maysville and Petersburg, WV and later obtained her GED. She retired in 2008 from Pilgrims Pride in Moorefield and had previously worked at Windsor Knit Sewing Factory and Advantage Foods. Annabelle was a member of the Cabins Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed collecting antique glass, gardening, and sewing. But, most of all she loved cooking and canning for her family and caring for her dogs.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McDonald leaves behind to cherish her memory: 3 sons, Forist J. McDonald III (Judy) of Dorcas, WV, Jeffrey Todd McDonald (Valerie) of Rig, WV, Brian Allen McDonald of Moorefield, WV; 4 sisters, Helen Leatherman (Clarence) of Moorefield, WV, Dotty Champ (Charles) of Purgitsville, WV, Bonnie Heavener (Will) of Petersburg, WV,  Judy McIntire (Richard) of Maysville, WV; 2 brothers, Sterl Berg of Maysville, WV, Randolph Berg of Elk Garden, WV; 3 grandchildren, Forist J. McDonald IV, Emilee Shaffer (Samuel), and Shantel McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Ashley McDonald; a great grandson, Rowan McDonald; 4 brothers, Ricky, Darvin, Therman, and Emory Berg; and a sister, Beggie M. Kisamore.

Mrs. McDonald's family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the funeral Home chapel with Pastors Coleman and Colleen Clark officiating. Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, WV.
