Antoinette Rose Ours, age 87, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at her home.  She was born on October 7, 1936 in West Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Philip Joseph and Seraphine (Crudele) Rioux.  On September 23, 1989, she married Richard J. Ours who survives in Petersburg.

Mrs. Ours worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. as a secretary for many years.  Upon retirement, she continued to stay busy volunteering for the American Red Cross, teaching piano, and was actively involved in her church, both in Virginia and Petersburg.  She enjoyed cooking and art but cherished her family most.

In addition to her husband, Antoinette leaves behind to cherish her memories: 2 daughters, Margaret Lynn of Bowling Green, VA; Kathryn Connett of Petersburg, VA; a sister, Pamela Camara (David) of Massachusetts ; 3 brothers, Philip Rioux (Carolyn) of Arizona ; Jeffery Rioux of Massachusetts; William Rioux (Donna) of Georgia;  3 grandchildren, Alexandra Cornell of Spotsylvania, VA; Robert Connett of Dumfries, VA; Brian Connett of Locust Grove, VA; 2 great-granddaughters, Anna and Taylor Cornell of Spotsylvania, VA; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Rioux.

Antoinette's family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023 1-3 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.
