Obituary

Asa H. Kisamore, Jr. , age 69, of Arthur Road, Petersburg, WV , went home to be with Jesus Thursday, September 30, 2021, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. He was born January 15, 1952, the son of the late Asa H. Kisamore, Sr. and Cloda Belle (Whetzel) Kisamore. On December 1, 1973, Asa married his wife, Bonnie L. (Bosley) Kisamore, who survives with their fur baby Toby Jo, in Petersburg, WV.

Mr. Kisamore was a 1971 graduate of Petersburg High School. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and more recently attended Maysville Bible Brethren Church. Asa was a plumber and superintendent for a Mechanical Pipefitting Contractor in Northern Virginia before later retiring from the WV Department of Highways. Asa was a hard working man who always kept his hands busy and always made time to help others without ever expecting anything in return. He enjoyed many things in life, including restoring vehicles, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Mountaintop Hunting Club. His greatest pleasure in life, however, were his grandchildren, who called him "Boppy". There are not enough words to explain what an amazing man Asa was, nor enough words to express what a void his absence has created.

In addition to his wife, Asa leaves behind to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy: a daughter, Alicia Van Meter (J.R.) of Scherr, WV; 4 grandchildren; Matthew Riley Van Meter, Ian Asa Van Meter, Rylan Angela Miley Van Meter, Taylan Louren Van Meter; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Angela Dawn Kisamore; a grandson, Cooper Allen Van Meter; a great-granddaughter, Cooper Brooke Van Meter; and an infant sister.

Mr. Kisamore's family will receive friends on Sunday, October 3, 2021, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Lynn Durbin officiating.  Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.  Memorials may be made to Petersburg High School Sports Boosters.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
