Ashley Anne Mowery, age 21, of Baker, WV, passed away as a result of an automobile accident in Mathias, WV, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 .  She was born on March 21, 2000 , in Petersburg WV, the daughter of Russel Mowery, Jr. (Kimberly) of Moorefield and Rebecca Anne Mowery of Baker, WV.  She was engaged to Tyler Olmsted, the father of her infant child, who survives in Moorefield.

Ms. Mowery was a 2018 graduate of Petersburg High School and attended the Cutting Edge School of Hair Design at the South Branch Career & Technical Center.  She was a Personal Care Aide at The Last Minute Lily's in Wardensville, WV where she found her passion for helping the elderly and had just enrolled in nursing school.  She played softball for Hampshire High School, enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her brother, Hunter.   Ashley will be remembered for her many fine qualities including her big heart. She was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, never meeting a stranger.

In addition to her parents and fiancé,  Ashley leaves behind to cherish her memories:  2 brothers; Joshua Park of Baker, WV; Hunter Nelson of Baker, WV; 1 step-brother, Levi Crites of Keyser, WV; her grandparents, Lewis Marquis of Cabins, WV; Twila (Myers) Mowery of Moorefield, WV; several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; and her pet cat "Luna".  She was preceded in death by an infant child; grandparents, Dianne (Clark) Marquis and Russel Mowery Sr.

Ashley's family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 , 4-6PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  A celebration of life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 6PM with Minister Shaena Crossland officiating.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Basagic Funeral Home P.O.
