Barbara Ann Mallow , age 76, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. She was born on April 22, 1944, in Parsons, WV, the daughter of the late William Hervy and Betty (Delaney) Jennings. On December 30, 1967, Barbara married Dr. John Allen Mallow, who survives in Upper Tract, WV.
Mrs. Mallow was a 1962 graduate of Circleville High School and she attended Shepherd College. She retired in 2004, after working 31 years for the US Postal Service in Petersburg, WV. Mrs. Mallow was a member of the Franklin Chapter #138 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a singer with the Mountainaires and she enjoyed painting.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mallow is survived by: a daughter, April Mallow of Upper Tract, WV; 2 sons, James "Jamie" Mallow of Harrisonburg, VA, John Jasper Mallow (Dawn) of Franklin, WV; 2 brothers, William Hervy Jennings of Radford, VA, George Jonathan Jennings of Peterstown, WV; and 2 grandchildren, Phillip and Gwen.
Mrs. Mallow's family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV, with services conducted at 7:00 PM by the Franklin Chapter #138 Order of the Easter Star. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, with Pastor David Webb officiating. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV. Memorials may be made to Upper Tract United Methodist Church.
