Betty Kathryn Huffman, age 88 of Petersburg, WV, formerly of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Grant County Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg. She was born on January 2, 1930, in Onego, WV, the daughter of the late John Lawson and Alpha (Vance) Haren. On September 8, 1948, Betty married Ward Huffman, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1985.

Ms. Huffman attended Onego School and attended Seneca Rocks Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and had worked for many years at Seneca Rocks Elementary School as a Custodian.

Ms. Huffman is survived by: a daughter, Judi McCoy and husband Tom of New Creek, WV; 4 sons, Bradley Huffman and wife Vickie of Riverton, Alan Huffman and wife June of Onego, Dan Huffman and wife Liz of Seneca Rocks, Tom Huffman and wife Kathy of Petersburg; 2 sisters, Nellie Thompson of Bowden, WV, Bernice Cunningham of Beverly; 7 grandchildren, James Huffman, Jeremy Huffman, Adam Huffman, Austin Huffman, Lucas McCoy, Taryn Hogbin, and Ella Huffman; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, Frank Huffman; a brother, John June Haren; a sister, Shirley Adamson; a great-grandson, Lauson Huffman.

Ms. Huffman's family will receive friends on Monday, October 29, 2018, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul O'Gorek officiating. Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg. Memorials may be made to Seneca Rocks Volunteer Fire Department.
