Betty Marie Propst , age 88, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, at Autumn Care of Cornelius, in North Carolina. She was born on June 19, 1932, in Franklin, WV, the daughter of the late Ray and Mable (Teter) Propst.

Betty was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High school and she retired after working 17 years as a waitress for Madison Hotel in Washington, DC. She had been a participant in the Foster Grandparent Program at Franklin Elementary School for more than 20 years.

Betty is survived by: 2 daughters, Carolyn Hedrick of Newton, NC, Darlene Paris of Fredericksburg, VA; 3 sons, Terry Hedrick (Margaret) of Franklin, Cody Hedrick (Barbara) of Franklin, WV, Danny Paris (Julie) of Fredericksburg, VA; 12 grandchildren, Darren, Warren, Kristen, and Aaron Hedrick, Angela Shifflett Hoyle, James, Christopher, and Daniel Shifflett, Jennifer and Myles Thompson, Connie and Nicole Paris; great-grandchildren, Gracie Lynn Hedrick, Jeremy and Travis Hoyle, Ayden, Eryn, Carson, Mason Ira, and Kylah Shifflett, Kyle White, Tyler Asbury, Carmeron, Kaden, and Calah Wright; and a great-great-grandchild, Caiah Alane Wright. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: a son, Luther Clay Hedrick, Jr.; a brother, Ona Propst; and a grandson, Ricky Asbury.

Betty's family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2020, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
