Betty Lee Oates, age 83, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. She was born on February 5, 1937, in Scherr, WV, the daughter of the late Orville David Wolfe and Edna Viola (Rohrbaugh) Wolfe. Mrs. Oates was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall E. Kimble and her second husband, Olin "Dick" Oates.

Mrs. Oates was a 1956 graduate of Petersburg High School and a member of the Spirit of Life Church in Petersburg. Betty was a Supervisor for 19 years for Geico Insurance Co. in Chevy Chase, MD  before retiring from Central Tie and Lumber in Petersburg as head bookkeeper.

Mrs. Oates is survived by: 1 sister, Sue Sites and husband, Curtis, of Petersburg; 1 step-daughter, Cheryl Hand; 2 step-sons, Richard Oates and Doug Oates; 3 nephews, Jeffrey, Rodney, and Jason Sites; 1 niece, Susan George; and a special great-nephew, Ethan Sites, whom she thought of as a son.

Per Mrs. Oates request, her body will be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 2:00PM at the Maysville Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hipp officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Donor's choice.
