Billy George Goldizen, age 71, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on January 14, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  He was born on June 8, 1950, the son of the late Kelly George Goldizen and Elva Lee (Simpson) Goldizen.  On July 26, 1969, Billy married Carolyn Bernell (Carr) Goldizen, who survives in Petersburg.

Mr. Goldizen was a man of God who faithfully attended Brake Covenant Brethren Church.  Billy graduated from Petersburg High School, later completing schooling becoming a Master Electrician and Plumber. He was currently employed by Petersburg Oil Company where he also gained many certifications in oil and gas. In addition to being a lifetime farmer, Billy loved hunting and being outdoors as well as spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Billy leaves behind to cherish his memories: a daughter, Kimberly Knick (Samuel) of Petersburg, WV; a son, Nathan Paul Goldizen (Angie), of Maysville, WV; 2 brothers, Wayne Goldizen (Sharon), of Petersburg, WV; Jerry Goldizen, of Petersburg, WV; 6 grandchildren, Allison Myers (Ryan), Brendon Knick, Eric and Christian Phares, Jacob and Devin Vance; and 6 great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; 2 sisters, Donna Carr and Nancy Ours.

Mr. Goldizen's family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 6-9PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services will be held at the Brake Covenant Brethren Church, Thursday, January 20, at 2PM, with Pastor Craig Howard officiating.  Interment will be in the Billy Goldizen Family Cemetery in Petersburg, WV.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Brake Covenant Brethren Church Outreach Fund at 176 N.
