Obituary

Bonnie Jean Carr, age 74, of Maysville, WV, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026 at her home. She was born on April 5, 1952 in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Robert Gabe and Ramona (Barr) Evans. On June 20, 1970, Bonnie married Gary Allen Carr, who preceded her in death on June 23, 2016.

Bonnie graduated in the class of 1970 from Petersburg High School and was a former member of the Jordan Run Union Church. She was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until her retirement. She loved flowers and cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bonnie was a wonderful cook who enjoyed making Sunday dinners for her family to gather while passing on precious memories.

Bonnie is survived by: 3 daughters, Michelle Bennett (Troy); Cary Runion (Mike); Amanda Hall (Brandon) all of Maysville, WV; 2 sisters, Barbara Zirkle (Ron) of Clarksburg, WV; Debra Crites of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Leon Evans (Andi) of Maysville, WV; 4 Grandsons, Aaron “AJ” Runion; Zacary Runion; Hunter Hall; Kason Hall; a special granddaughter, Brittany Simmons; and 3 special great-grandchildren, Willow, Raiden, and Piper. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry and William Evans.

Bonnie’s family will receive friends on Monday, July 27, 2026, 11-1 PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment will be at Barger Cemetery on Jordan Run Rd.
