Brenda Kay Kisner, age 66, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on May 4, 1958 in Petersburg, the daughter of Paul R. and Ruthlene (Kisamore) Champ.  On December 18, 2006, Brenda married Charles H. Kisner, who survives in Petersburg.

Brenda attended school in Petersburg and worked as a cook for Cheetah B's.  She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and was famous for her macaroni salad and coleslaw.  Brenda loved to be outdoors, she looked forward to camping trips, fishing, hunting, and planting flowers in the spring.   She saw her need for salvation and accepted the Lord's hand and was baptized. She took pleasure in many things on earth but leaves behind her legacy of faith in the Lord and a love for her family to cherish.

In addition to her husband, Brenda leaves behind to cherish her memory:  a son, Larry Ray Carpenter (Misty) of Petersburg, WV; 2 sisters, Rosalie (Champ) Mallow of Cabins, WV; Ester Champ (Roger) of Petersburg, WV; 2 Grandchildren, Gracie and Conner Ray Carpenter; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece that was more like a daughter, Heather Lewis; and several Great-nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, David Champ and a brother-in-law, Virgil Mallow.

Brenda's family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025, 10-12 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
