Bruce Payton Schrader, age 90, of Petersburg, WV passed away on February 26, 2022, at his home.  He was born on July 16, 1931, in Pulaski, VA, the son of the late William Lloyd and Minerva Elizabeth (Henley) Shrader.  On September 14, 1953, Bruce married Nancy Lee (Kidd) Schrader, who preceded him in death on January 22, 2018.

Mr. Schrader was a 1949 graduate of Pulaski County High School and continued his education at VPI (Virginia Tech) earning a degree in mining engineering in 1955.  Bruce was an accomplished artist and painter who participated in local art shows, often winning many first place ribbons.  He once built his own sailboat and sailed the East Coast with Nancy by his side.  Bruce also enjoyed camping and traveling the country in his RV with his family.  He was involved for many years with the Tri-County Fair, The Arts Council, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #13 of Clarksburg, WV, The Royal Arch Masons of Goodhope WV, Jackson Lodge #35 of Goodhope WV, Adoniram #11 of Clarksburg, WV, Grand Lodge AS AF, and Shriners.  Bruce will always be remembered as a very generous man and philanthropist.

Bruce leaves behind to cherish his memories: 2 daughters, Pamela Haun (Thomas) of Huntington, WV; Gwen Weiler of Clinton, MD; a son, Tim Schrader (Lisa) of Petersburg, WV; a sister, Joyce Rodgers of McKinney, TX; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Andrea, Britney, Shannon, Bradley, Aaron, Michael; 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Reagan, Lydia, Alex, and Dani.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Lloyd Schrader and a sister, Sue Beasley.
