Obituary

Charles Edward Hil l, age 57, of Cabins, WV, passed away at his home following a long, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 07, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 20, 1967 in Petersburg, WV, the son of the late C. Keith and Betty Jean (Crider) Hill.  Charles married Tena Jeanette (Crites) Hill who survives in Cabins.

In 1985, Charles graduated from Petersburg High School and West Virginia University in 1990 with a degree in Marketing.  He worked at American Woodmark for many years before becoming a substitute teacher in the Grant County School System and most recently as a manager for Crown Spirits until his health began to fail.  Charles loved to hunt, regardless of whether he was hunting that trophy buck or mushrooms.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR or any WVU sports team.  But most of all, Charles cherished his family.   They will remember him as an incredible storyteller and loving family man.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by: 2 daughters, Kayla Hacker (Randall) of Morgantown, WV; Taylor See (Fiancé Colton Hardy) of Petersburg, WV; 2 sons, Coty Sites (Kari) of Upper Tract, WV; Tyler Sites of Petersburg, WV; a brother, Dennis Hill (Charlotte) of Moorefield, WV; 4 Grandchildren; a niece and nephew; and 3 great-nieces and nephews.

In honoring Charles' request, his body has been donated to WVU Medical Science.  His family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024, 1-2 PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiating. The family is requesting anyone attending the service to wear a WVU or concert T-shirt in honor of Charles.   Memorials may be made to Petersburg High School Sports Boosters, 207 Viking Dr. Petersburg, WV 26847.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
