Charles Rexrode , age 94, of Sugar Grove, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at his home. He was born at Moyers, WV, on February 26, 1930, the son of the late George William and Mertie (Puffenbarger) Rexrode. Charles married Martha Elizabeth Rexrode, who preceded him in death on August 24, 2003.

Charles was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He worked in construction for several companies and was instrumental in building the Fairfield Bridge. Charles took pride in his family and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and words of wisdom with his grandchildren.

Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory: a daughter, Marsha Nelson (Charlie) of Franklin, WV; 3 sons, Clinton P. Eye (Mary) of Brandywine, WV, Ronald Rexrode (Susan) of Franklin, WV, Larry Joe Rexrode (Nancy) of Mechanicsville, VA; 12 grandchildren, Nick, Jonie, Bridget, Sarah, Rick, Mike, Luke, Tyler, Alyssa, Dustin, Kenny, Kristen; 10 great-grandchildren, Reagan, Tirzah, Sam, Zane, Dylan, Abby, Hunter, Bradley, Emma, Riley; and several nieces and nephews, including David Rexrode (Kathy), whom he raised. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 sons, Charles  "Duke" and Luther Todd Rexrode; 1 brother, William; and 4 sisters, Sadie, Faye, Ruth, and Thelma.

Charles' family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV, 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM, with Pastors Paul Schafer and Angela Lambert officiating.
