Connie May
Propst
Jan 16, 1959 — Jul 13, 2026
Connie May Propst, age 67, of Timberville, VA, left her earthly home on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on January 16, 1959, in Harman, WV, the daughter of the late Nellie Frances (McGowan) and Paul Edmund Auville, Sr.
Connie was a 1977 graduate of Circleville High School and a member of the Truth and Grace Ministries in Broadway, VA, where she was active in the women's fellowship. She enjoyed making blankets and curtains, woodworking, and watching the cooking network. Connie's compassionate heart led her to work as a caregiver for the elderly and disabled.
Connie showered warmth, strength, and undying love upon everyone fortunate enough to share her journey. From her earliest days in Onego, Connie’s laughter and kindness cast a glow in the lives of those around her. She embodied compassion and grace—qualities she carried with her through every chapter of her life. Her heart was open to all, and her home echoed with hospitality, wisdom, and the sweet simplicity of moments spent together. Connie found her greatest joys within her family, especially by being called “Nana” and treasuring the bonds she built and nurtured through the years. Her love knew no bounds and she loved making memories with her family.
Connie leaves behind to cherish her memory: her beloved daughters, DeAnna Fox (David) of Timberville, VA, Shallan Tracy Hinkle (Brian) of Mathias, WV; step-son, Jerome Propst; a dear friend, Mary Emerick; 4 brothers, Eugene Auville (Norma) of Riverton, WV, Roland Auville (Diane) of Seneca Rocks, WV, Orville Auville of Cabins, WV; a sister Arlene Goldizen; a step-sister,Arlene Long; chosen sisters, Charlotte Vance, and Carolyn Lambert; a step-brother, Doug Beaver; 10 grandchildren, Danny, Mahayla, Tristan, Dallas, Hunter, Cheyenne, Katie, Tanner, Andrew, and Deborah; 4 great-grandchildren, Hadley, Aurora, Holden, and Colton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her step-son Jesse Clay Propst; 3 brothers Raymond, Kenneth, and Paul Edmund “Junior” Auville; and a sister, Nancy Raines.
Through the joys and sorrows, Connie always stood as a beacon of unwavering love, quiet courage, and heartfelt generosity. Her legacy is the unbreakable thread of family, the memories that make hearts swell, and the gentle reminders of the beauty in life’s simple pleasures. As we mourn Connie’s passing, we remember the warmth she gave so freely, the hand she offered to hold, and the love she wrapped around her family, friends, and even strangers. Her spirit will continue to inspire compassion and kindness in all who knew her.
In honoring Connie's wishes, her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with Pastor Scott Showalter officiating. Memorial contributions may be made by helping any person or family in need, paying it forward in Connie's memory. Memories of words and comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
