Darlene Margaret Cox, age 64, of Standardsville, VA, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. She was born on February 17, 1956, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Clara Johanna (Skotarski) Nelson of Franklin, WV and the late Robert Jennings "Bob" Nelson. Darlene married David Cox, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2012.

Darlene was graduated High School in Baltimore, MD and had worked as a Health Care Worker.

In addition to her mother, Darlene is survived by: a daughter, Stephanie Idriss of Standardsville, VA; a son, David Cox, Jr. of Roanoke, VA; a brother, Robert J. Nelson of Baltimore, MD; and a granddaughter, Millie Roberts. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Charles John Nelson.
