Obituary

David R. Ratlie f, age 74, of Severna Park, MD, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Fort Seybert, WV. He was born on September 3, 1944 in Ft. Seybert, the son of the late Walter Ratlief and Edna (Dove) Ratlief. On September 10, 1966, David married Patricia (Teter) Ratlief who preceded him in death in 2017.

Mr. Ratlief was a 1963 graduate of Franklin High School and attended the University of Baltimore. David was owner and president of Gillette Tire Distributors in Glen Burnie, MD. He was very dedicated to his family and was well known as "Geezer" to his two grandsons. He enjoyed traveling, the Baltimore Orioles, spending time in Ocean City, MD with his family, and coming home to Ft. Seybert.

Mr. Ratlief is survived by: a daughter, Kimberly Ratlief Brown and husband Steve and 2 grandsons, Collin and Grayson Brown, all of Glen Burnie, MD; sister-in-law Carol Ratlief of Severn, MD, sister-in-law Evelyn Ratlief of Catonsville, MD, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue and Charles Kline of Fulshear, TX, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandra and Herman Hevener of Ft. Seybert, WV and brother-in-law, Eston Joe Teter of Baltimore, MD. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ratlief is predeceased by brother Edgar Ratlief, sister and brother-in-law Violet and Raymond VanDevander, brother and sister-in-law Roy and DeeDee Ratlief and brother, John Ratlief.

Mr. Ratlief's family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 1:00 at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services immediately follow at 2:00 with Pastor Steve Teter officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Bethel Cemetery in Ft. Seybert.
