David Charles Reel, age78, of Cabins, WV, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Hampshire Center in Romney, WV.  He was born on October 5, 1945 in Cabins, WV, the son of the late Charles Edward and Hettie (Carr) Reel.  On June 13, 1970, David married Patsy Ann (Miller) Reel, who preceded him in death on January 13, 2024.

Mr. Reel attended school in Grant County and was a Christian by faith.  He worked at Rockingham Poultry in Moorefield, WV and as a farm hand for Charles A. Funkhouser.  David enjoyed playing horseshoes, hunting wild game, especially raccoons, and was a former member of the NRA.  David loved to spend time with his family and his grandchildren could always put a smile on his face.

David is survived by: a daughter, Cindy Thorne (Rodney) of Petersburg, WV; a son, Craig Miller (Sallie) of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Annie Shepard of New York; 6 Grandchildren; and 15 Great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: an infant daughter, Hettie Reel; 2 sisters, Katherine Reel; Dorothy "Dottie" Sites; and 4 brothers, Branson, Bill, Ottie, and Edgar Reel.

David's family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11, 2024, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM will Pastors Bradley "Duke" Thorne and Jack Bosley officiating.
