Dayton Kisamore, age 91, of Cabins, WV, passed away on October 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on June 20, 1933 in Seneca Rocks, WV, the son of the late Floyd Sr. and Rosa Pearl (Kimble) Kisamore. On September 29, 1962, he married Beggie M Kisamore, who preceded him in death on October 24, 2021.
Mr. Kisamore attended school in Seneca Rocks, WV and the Riverside Church. Dayton was a self-employed Mason and proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong Apiarist (Beekeeper) and avid gardener. Dayton strived to have the best looking garden in the county, with the finest crops and not a weed to be found. He will be remembered as an honest and trustworthy man who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dayton leaves behind to cherish his memory: a daughter, Rebecca Roy of Petersburg; 3 sons, Mark Kisamore of Riverton, WV; Steven Kisamore (Melody) of Maysville, WV; Dwight Kisamore of Cabins, WV; 4 sisters, Rettie Barger (Roger Lee) of Maysville, WV; Mae Goldizen of Liberty, WV; Gloria Bennett of Cabins, WV; Hazel Smith of Corning, NY; a brother, Floyd Kisamore, Jr. of Louisa, VA; 3 Grandchildren, Dustin Ault (Lacey); Holly Bodkin; Hunter Kisamore; 2 Great-grandchildren, Daryan Ault; Gwendolyn Bodkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Kelsey Ault; 2 brothers, Jacob "Buddy" Kisamore; Denton Kisamore; 3 sisters, Ressie Bible; Rosa Lee Choate; Della Marie Carr; and daughter-in-law, Donna Kisamore.
Dayton's family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2024, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tommy George officiating. Interment will be at Riggleman Cemetery in Cabins, WV. Military honors will be bestowed by the US Army and Grant County Veteran Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Basagic Funeral Home.
