Deborah Kay "Debbie" Harper , age 70, of Seneca Rocks, WV, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. She was born on October 31, 1955, in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Freddie Emory and Ruby Maxine (White) Kisamore. On May 20, 2005, Debbie married Berlin Wright Harper, who survives in Riverton, WV.
Debbie attended and received her diploma from Dupont High School in Belle, WV. She was a member of Living Waters Ministry in Petersburg, WV and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #138. Debbie had worked at various places, including, Seneca Caverns, Harper's Country Store, Macksville Mart, and as a CNA at Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
Debbie took pride in her family, especially her grandchildren and she has instilled a legacy of love in each one of them.
In addition to her husband, Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory: a daughter, Christy Tallent (Brandon) of Morganton, NC; a son, Kenneth Staten (Jennifer) of Morganton, NC; 4 step daughters, Lisa Montgomery (Kenny) of Grafton, WV, Joanie Carr (Doug) of Seneca Rocks, WV, Betsy Bland (Elvis) of Seneca Rocks, WV, Amy Cook (Kacie) of Maysville, WV; 5 grandchildren, Brooke, Tyler, Justin, Sammy, Stormie; 8 great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Briella, Ethan, Will, Wrenley, Greylan, Aaron, Lendlee; and 4 step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Rosemary Bearfield; a grandson, Cody; and a great-grandson, Braydon.
Debbie's family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastors Allen and Barbara Sisson officiating and a service of remembrance conducted by the OES #138 . Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery, Riverton, WV. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
