Obituary

Deborah Ann (Crider) Eye , age 73, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 29, 1951, in Cumberland, MD, the daughter of the late L. Wayne and Anna L. "Bootie" Crider. On November 29, 1969, Deborah married Jerry Wayne Eye, who preceded her in death.

Debbie was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School and was a former member of the South Fork Ladies Auxiliary and South Fork Rescue Squad. She had worked as a waitress and enjoyed baby sitting. Deborah had been employed by Dominion Computer Services, Highland Data, Wampler, Pilgrims Pride, and the Town of Dayton, VA. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.

Debbie was an avid reader and she also enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino. She had great pleasure in trying new recipes and sharing them with others. Her passion was her children. She took great pride in watching them compete in sports beginning at the T-ball level.

Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory: her daughter, Malynda Kopp (Donnie) of Franklin, WV; her son, Matthew Wayne Eye (Tracy) of Newfane, NY; grandchildren: Blake Andrew-Martin Selmon, Brooke Alexandra Dahmer (Justin), Hunter Matthew Wayne Eye, Autumn Lee Elizabeth Eye; great-grandchildren: Skye Alexandra Dahmer, Oakley Madison Dahmer, Gatlin Dale Dahmer; sisters, Catherine Louise Adams (Mike) of Brandywine, WV, Sharon Renee Wheeler of Broadway, VA, and Rebecca Lynn Sager (Mark) of Broadway, VA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: brothers, Joseph Wayne Crider and Robert Evan Crider; a niece, Candace Nicole Adams; a nephew, Roy Michael Wheeler; and a brother-in-law, Frankie Wheeler.

In honing Debbie's wishes, her body has been cremated. Debbie's family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2025, 1- 2:00 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Father Manuel Escalante, officiating.
