Debra Ann Simmons, age 67,  of Franklin, WV, passed away peacefully at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV, on Friday, September 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Debra was born on May 25, 1958, in Cherry Grove, WV, the daughter of the late Annabelle Lamb and foster daughter of the late Ollie and Viola Kimble.  On July 4, 1999,  she married Owen Byrd Simmons, who survives in Franklin.

Debra attended Franklin High School and had worked in various positions throughout the community, including the Pendleton Nursing Home in recent years.  She devoted her time as a homemaker and found joy in being with her beloved family and pets.  Debra attended Brushy Run Church of God and loved her church family.

In addition to her husband, Debra leaves behind to cherish her memory:  a sister-in-law, Alma Mae Mallow (Paul) of Franklin, WV; a niece, Cindy Moyers (Alan) of Bridgewater, VA; a great-nephew, Tanner Moyers (Hannah) of Verona, VA;  2 great-nieces, Gracie and Lily Moyers of Bridgewater, VA; a special aunt, Hazel Bennett; and special friends, Elaine Keplinger, Alisha Adams, and Kay Simmons.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin, WV, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to PAWS (Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter.
