Delton Ray Hammer , age 84, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. He was born on August 27, 1935, in Franklin, WV, the son of the late Marvin Ray and Nellie Icadora (Mitchell) Hammer. Delton married Charlotte Corrina (Judy) Hammer, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2012.

Delton attended Pendleton County Shools and was a Veteran of the US Army. He had worked as a Crane and Equipment Operator for Hott & Miller and Blair Clower. He was a Farmer and was a member of the Ruddle Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Hammer is survived by: a daughter, Debbie Mowery (Chris) of Franklin, WV; a son, Douglas Hammer of Franklin, WV; a sister, Myrtle Hammer of Franklin, WV; a brother, Albert Hammer (Grace) of Franklin, WV; 2 grandchildren, Kelly and Shane (Louisa); 2 great-grandchildren, Asher Michael and Riley Kate; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Warner.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin, WV, with Rev. Shyrl Smith officiating.
