Donald Arthur Barger , age 83 of Maysville, WV, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Mr. Barger was born on February 28, 1936 in Jordan Run the son of the late Arthur Barger and Lucy Irene (Goldizen) Barger. On April 27, 1962, Donald married his wife of 57 years, Judy Belle (Berg) who resides in Petersburg.

Mr. Barger attended school in Petersburg and was a member of the Jordan Run Union Church in Maysville. Donald worked for the Allegheny Coal Co. in Mt. Storm, WV before retiring from Petersburg Blocks Inc. in Petersburg. He was a lifelong timberman and loved to hunt for bear and raccoon.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Barger is survived by: 2 sisters, Rosalee Mongold of Maysville, WV and Polly Vance and husband, Harold, of Maysville and 4 brothers, Harlan Barger and wife, Velda, of Fort Ashby, WV, Verlin Barger and wife, Janice, of Maysville, Wendell Barger and wife, Ilene, of Dorcas, WV and Roger Barger and wife, Rettie, of Maysville.

Mr. Barger's family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Jordan Run Union Church in Maysville, WV with Rev. Paul Donaldson and Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating.
