Donald Dwain Pennington, age 65, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. He was born on September 9, 1954, the son of the late Ronald William Pennington and the late Thelma Catherline Alt. On June 18, 1977, Donald married Sherry Lynn (Smith) Pennington, who survives in Upper Tract, WV.

Donald was a 1973 graduate of Petersburg High School and retired in 2017, after working 47 years as a truck driver for V. R. Mowry Trucking.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by: a daughter, Brittany Roy (Cody) of Belington, WV;4 grandchildren, Aidynn DeShawne, Rylan DeShawne, Autumn and Rhiannon Roy; 2 half sisters, Rhonda Barger of Maysville, WV, and Loretta Alt of Petersburg, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Gary Pennington; and a half brother, Ronnie VanMeter.

Mr. Pennington's family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2020, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eddie Mullenax officiating. Interment will be in the Kline Cemetery in Upper Tract,WV.
