Doris Jean (Kimble) Alt , age 84, of Middle River, MD and formerly of Grant and Pendleton Counties, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, MD. She was born on February 27, 1936, in Landes,WV, the daughter of the late Stanley Cecil Kimble and Mary Alice "Molly" (Ratcliff) Kimble. She was previously married to Burley H. Alt, who preceded her in death.

Ms. Alt attended Franklin High School and she was a member of the Upper Tract United Methodist Church in Upper Tract and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Middle River, MD. Doris retired from Northrop Grumman.

She is survived by: 1 daughter, Kelly Braun of Middle River, MD; 2 brothers, Paul Kimble of Rough Run,WV and Douglas W. Kimble of Moorefield, WV; 3 grandchildren, Julia Mitchell, Louis Braun and Ryan Braun; 3 great-grandchildren, Jordan Gilbow, Jaysen Gilbow and Avery Winebrenner and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alt is preceded in death by: 1 daughter, Marsha Mitchell; 2 brothers, Bruce Mowery and Kermit Mowery and 1 sister, Pearl Kimble.

Mrs. Alt's family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14 from 12-2PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg on Sunday, June 14, 2020 with Pastor Craig Howard officiating.
