Effie Mae Harr , age 93, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on July 18, 1928, in Lynchburg, VA, the daughter of the late Julian Viar and Effie Kate (Lambert) Harper Viar. On March 19, 1948, Effie married William David "Bill" Harr, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2005.

Mrs. Harr was a 1947 graduate of Franklin High School and a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and Franklin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She had worked at the Half Price Store and retired from B & H Hardware, after 23 years of service.

Mrs. Harr is survived by: 2 sons, Kenneth Harr of Franklin and Dennis Harr (fiance Charity Lambert) of Franklin, WV. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Virginia Bauserman; and 2 half brothers, Robert and Richard Harper.

Mrs. Harr's family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, 1-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV.
