Eric Brandon Shockey , age 54, of Brandywine, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 12, 1971, in Petersburg, WV, the son of Boyd Lee Shockey (Joyce) of Brandywine, WV and Bonnie Marie (Evans) Shockey of Brandywine, WV.

Eric was a graduate of Franklin High School. He had a passion for sports, including football and baseball. Eric especially loved watching the Orioles and the Raiders. He was very organized and displayed his organizational skills with his collection of DVD's. Eric brought so much love and joy to his family and he has left an etching in each of their hearts.

In addition to his parents, Eric leaves behind to cherish his memory: 2 sisters, Shannon Adkins (Rick) of Sugar Grove, WV, Kelly Shockey of Brandywine, WV; a brother, Cody Shockey (Lindsay) of Hedgesville, WV; nieces, Kayla Allen, Katelyn Shockey, Kyra Walls, Sadie Truman, Ella Truman, Alani Shockey; nephews, Jarrod Walls, and Jackson Shockey; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Melinda Shockey, Sherry Martinez, and Jay Krewson. .

In honoring Eric's wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV, with his nephew, Pastor Jarrod Walls officiating. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
