Flora Jean "Pudgy" Kisamore, age 80, of Petersburg, WV, passed away on October 29, 2021, in Petersburg. Born May 8, 1941 in Petersburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Glenn "Jonas" McNeil Alt and Ruth (Meyers) Alt. She was later adopted by her Aunt Sadie Alt, who had raised her since the day she was born. She was preceded in death by an infant son Jonathan J Kisamore.
Mrs. Kisamore was a member of the Grove Street United Methodist Church. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1959 and attended Shepherd University. On March 16, 1968 she was united in marriage to Justin J. Kisamore, who survives in Petersburg, WV. She is survived by a special nephew Clinton D. Vance, of Riverton, WV; a special god-son, Thomas W. Hedrick of Maysville, WV; and a special friend, Megan Goldizen of Petersburg, WV.
Mrs. Kisamore was a former Justice of the Peace and one of the first Magistrates of Grant County. She was the first bail bondsman for 5 of the local counties for over 20 years. Mrs. Kisamore was also City Judge for the City of Petersburg for over 10 years. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years, and a CERT and SERV volunteer for Pendleton County. She was an employee of Eastern West Virginia Community Action Agency for several years, of which time she worked in Grant and Pendleton Counties. As a volunteer, she was involved with the Petersburg Inter-Faith Food Pantry and Christian Association Network, C.A.N. She was one of the first members of the LEPC of Pendleton County. She attended many trainings in West Virginia and Maryland and assisted with many classes.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 1, 2021, 10-11 AM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Funeral services will begin at 11AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Hakes officiating. Interment will follow at the Lahmansville Cemetery. Memorials, in honor of Pudgy, may be made to Grove St. UMC. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com
