Frances "Louise" Hawkins, age 90, a resident of Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, Petersburg, WV, formerly of Seneca Rocks, WV passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023.  She was born on June 18, 1932 in Salem, VA, the daughter of the late John H. and Alberta (Trout) Greenway.  Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hawkins, on February 23, 1988.

Louise graduated high school in Clinton, MD and worked as a cashier for Giant Foods for 32 years before her retirement.  She was a Methodist by faith and loved taking care of her children, grandchildren, and friends.  She also took pleasure in caring for all her cats.

Louise is survived by: a son, Mike Dean of Silver Spring, MD; and 6 Grandchildren.   In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: a son, Charles Dean; and a brother, Bobby Greenway.

Ms. Hawkins' family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023, 1-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV.  In honoring Louise's wishes, her body will be cremated and inurnment will be at the Dean Family Cemetery, Upper Tract, WV.  Memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or SPCA.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
