April 24, 1938 – February 25, 2024
Frank Norman Rodgers, age 85, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Martinsburg Healthcare Center. Mr. Rodgers was born on April 24, 1938 in Petersburg, WV, the son of the late George and Wilma (Mongold) Rodgers. On October 14, 1969 Frank married Ruth (Henry) Rodgers who survives in Martinsburg.
Mr. Rodgers was a graduate of Petersburg High School and attended Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Upon graduation, Frank served our country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Potomac Edison until his retirement and then continued to work for Cookman's Insurance. He stayed very active in his community where he taught first aid for many years and served as a volunteer fireman for the Petersburg and Maysville Volunteer Fire Departments. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post #78 in Petersburg, the Masonic Lodge #145 in Petersburg, Shriner, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Frank is survived by: 2 sons, Craig Rodgers of Dickerson, MD; Sherwin "Buggsy" Rodgers (Lori) of Troutville, VA; 3 step-daughters, Stephanie Waldman (Joe) of Petersburg, WV; Pamela McVey of Las Vegas, NV; Leisha Rutkowski (Tom) of Wyoming, DE; 2 sisters, Sharon Ann Sites of Winchester, VA; Myra Yokum (Alan) of Landes, WV; 10 Grandchildren; and 8 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Rodgers, Jr.
In honoring Frank's wishes, his body has been cremated and graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024, 11:30 AM at Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, WV with Rev. Dr. Bruce Stevens officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the www.dimintiasociety.org Dementia Society of America POB 600 Doylestown, PA 18901 or the Shriners Hospitals for Children POB 1525 Ranson, WV 25438 www.shrinersinternational.org Military honors will be bestowed by the US Navy and Grant County Veteran Honor Guard as well as honors by the WV State Firemen's association and local volunteer firemen.
